Currently based in Singapore, Anwar has twelve years of experience in making hundreds of videos catered to young adults. His compulsion to write and tell relatable stories have helped him garner over 5 million views in less than two years through more than a hundred videos for his role as writer, producer and host of the Youtube channel THELAKI. This was after making videos on his own Youtube channel IniAnwarHadi, pioneering content creation on the Malaysian Youtube scene. He is also a published author and an anthology editor.
Formerly an in-house writer at Red Communications, he has written scripts for shows such as Club Mickey Mouse (Disney+ Hotstar), Kau VS Aku (SOOKA), SMK Study Squad and Megastar Academy (Astro Ceria). He also created and was the head writer for the show Ex Aku Pontianak (Astro Ria).

Kau VS Aku [SOOKA]
Anwar Hadi was brought in as the head-screenwriter for this Wattpad novel adaptation. He led a team that included two other writers to take the raw material and turn it into something compelling enough for the screen. It became the #1 show on the streaming platform SOOKA, and its sharable content went viral on TikTok.
Ex Aku Pontianak [Astro Ria]
Ex Aku Pontianak was created and head-written by Anwar Hadi, and was sold to Astro Gempak to be aired on Astro Ria, a channel catering shows for the mass Malay audience in Malaysia. The show uses a non-linear storytelling structure, full of flashbacks and foreshadowing, culminating in a satisfying twist ending in the final episode of the comedic horror series. Attached is the screenplay for the first episode of this 10-episode series.
SMK Season 3 [Astro Ceria]
Season 3 of Astro Ceria's popular franchise "SMK" was a challenge to write, as it all had to be shot remotely, since it was shot during the height of the third wave of lockdowns in Malaysia. Still, Anwar managed to craft together a story that had an engaging storyline with heavy doses of humour to keep its younger Malay-speaking audience entertained.

Pinball Monkeys
Anwar is part of long-form improvised comedy group Pinball Monkeys. Together with Muzakir and Farid, Pinball Monkeys put on shows for both online consumption and for the stage, getting a suggestion from the audience and improvising a whole hour-long show with that suggestion. They have an album on Spotify called "Semua On The Spot" and put out audio episodes regularly on their Patreon page.
Benevolent Ba
Anwar acted in a short film written and directed by Diffan Norman. The short was screened at Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews.
Stage Plays
Anwar has been an active member of the Malaysian theatre community, acting in numerous plays since 2018 for stages both big and small. Some notable plays that he has been a part of are Nadhirah, Syyy...!,  Playing God and Orang Bulan.
